No More Rumours: Qatar and Abu Dhabi Officially Set to Crown the Champion
The exciting countdown is officially on.It’s official: The F1 season finale is locked in for the Middle East. F1 boss Stefano Domenicali cleared up months of rumours. He confirmed that the final two races will happen exactly as planned. The dates are now set to finish the championship.
First, drivers will race at the Qatar GP from November 27–29. Then, the grand finale will take place at the Abu Dhabi GP from December 4–6.
Hosting these final races is a massive money-maker for the sport. Qatar pays around $55 million every year as part of a 10-year deal.
Abu Dhabi pays even more about $90 million each year just to be the very last race of the season.
Together, these two weekends bring in more than $145 million in hosting fees for F1.
On top of that, over 150,000 fans are expected to travel to the races. This huge crowd will spend more than $200 million on local hotels, food, and shopping.
Who will be the driver standing on top of the podium to lift the trophy in Abu Dhabi?
