Driven to Stay: Ocon Confirms F1 Focus After Haas Departure
Esteban Ocon has confirmed he will leave the Haas F1 Team at the end of the current season, but the French driver insists his time in Formula 1 is far from over.
Speaking ahead of the unique Bahrain Grand Prix held in Malaysia, the one-time race winner made his future goals very clear. Even though almost every seat for the next season is already taken, Ocon is fully focused on staying in the sport. He explained that he is open to taking a temporary role as a reserve driver if that keeps him connected to the paddock.
Ocon stated that things can shift rapidly in modern racing, keeping his hopes high. He believes his 10 years of experience and past achievements prove he deserves a spot on the grid. For the rest of the year, his only target is to extract every bit of speed from his current machinery.
The driver feels proud of his time with the American squad. He noted that his early work identifying car problems helped create a much healthier, more consistent vehicle.
According to Ocon, these mechanical fixes directly led to recent successes, including a strong double-points finish at the previous race in Baku.
With the grid shrinking rapidly, will Ocon's gamble on a reserve role pay off, or have we seen the last of the Frenchman in a full-time F1 seat?
